In the first of a series of video blogs, Managing Director Lee Webster discusses why you should use LBW, reviewing what makes us different, our expert team and our ethical approach to accounting.

 

 

My name is Lee Webster, I am a Chartered Accountant and specialise in dealing with Limited Companies with a turnover of up to £10 million.

I set up LBW in 2009 with 8 staff and currently today there are 15 of us providing specialist accountancy and tax advice to small businesses.

We believe we are a refreshing alternative to the traditional firms of local accountants who may no longer have the resources to service your businesses needs. 

Transparent, ethical accounting

Our success is based on a 'can-do' attitude of finding solutions that are clients are looking for. We never use any schemes to reduce our clients tax liabilities, we simply stay up to date with respect to our technical knowledge through attending courses, continuing our professional exams and sharing strategies within the firm. 

Communication

We also communicate this knowledge through the use of our newsletters, our one to one meetings with clients and our various seminars & forums held throughout the year. 

Reducing tax, reducing risk

We don't just reduce tax bills, we reduce tax bills with our clients safe in the knowledge that their affairs are being dealt with properly and they are at no risk with HMRC.

We think the numbers speak for themselves. In the 6 years we've been open at LBW, we've had only 1 in-depth investigation within the 200 business clients that we act for and even in that instance after the investigation there was no additional tax payable by the client, the client was satisfied with the result and continues to be a client of LBW today. By gaining our clients confidence we've seen the number of business clients that we act for increase from 80 to 200 businesses today. As a result of client satisfaction our business continues to grow through referrals.

Working together

The diversity of our experience combined with the length of time that we have worked together allows us to get the best result for our clients. Our whole team work together planning around our clients yea ends and tax deadlines. By doing this it allows us to ensure that clients know not only how much tax they have to pay, but they receive this well in advance of any due dates.

We have a pre year-end meeting with every client to discus their plans for the future and establish what impact this may have on any tax liabilities that may arise. 

All of LBW's services are provided under a fixed monthly fee that is agreed at the offset, providing the transparency that clients need in respect of fees and there are never any hidden extras.
