It has been brought to our attention by several of our clients and staff that there are vast amounts of HMRC phishing emails and texts being received. This is a common theme around this time of year with taxpayers frantically meeting the 31 January filing deadline for tax returns.
We would like to remind you all that HMRC will never send notifications by email or text about tax rebates or refunds. Any correspondence is usually in the form of a letter.
Fraudsters may spoof a genuine email address or change the ‘display name’ to make it appear genuine. If you are unsure, forward it to us and then delete it.Last modified on
